Juilliard - My Life in New York City
If there is one thing you should know about me, it's I LOVE NEW YORK CITY. I call it the concrete jungle where dreams come true. It's bright lights, broadway, the best food and of course shopping!! But my favorite part of New York City is not times square or SoHo Shopping... it's a college named Juilliard that I spent my summer at while I was in NYC. It was dream come true and a life changing experience that I will continue to do until I have reached all my singing and acting goals. As a child I dreamed of being on Broadway or being a singer studying at a college like Juilliard and meeting agents like I did this summer. My dreams came to reality and I want to share my experience with all of you through pictures and memories of my unbelievable summer!
We would see a show once a week that has already paid for and we could see whatever shows we wanted to on the weekends. I am pretty sure I saw every show on Broadway! Addicted? Maybe...
A few of us before going to an audition at Actor's Connection. I got to meet lots of important people at Actor's Connection who I am still in touch with. Every girl in this picture is at Juilliard for a different talent, I personally went for Musical Theatre which means I am an actress and a singer.
This is a picture of my Dad and I in Little Italy eating lunch. I was living in NYC by myself but on the weekends I could have family or friends come and visit me so my parents came up one weekend to check it all out! (And I think they missed me a little bit too) It was great getting to spend time with my Dad in New York! He is so incredible and my personal role model in every way. If I grow up to be as a successful as him, I will be blessed! I love you Daddy!
When I had any free time (which wasn't much at all, mostly just weekends), I would go SHOPPING!
My favorite was of course the five story Toys R Us! It has a ferris wheel inside of it! The picture above was taken in the Barbie dreamhouse, I had to take a picture in there because one of my nicknames in NYC was "Barbie". :D
*WILL POST MORE PICTURES AND CAPTIONS SOON
Thanks for reading my blog, I gotta get to bed, big day tomorrow and performance! Thanks to all of you for keeping up with my me!

Me and some of the amazingly talented girls before seeing a Broadway show.

Songwriting Project
A few days ago, my voice coach and songwriting teacher gave me a project to work on, so I decided I would post it to my blog for all of you to see!
The project was to write a background story of the three completed songs I have written, so here they are:
This song is complicated. And not complicated like the Avril Lavigne hit song “Complicated”… it’s more like being utterly and completely confused about a relationship. I originally wrote this song being confused about what was going on at the time and why that the person I liked so much had liked me back too then why weren’t we together? This song is about being with someone but not actually “officially” being with them. It was to the point where I just wanted to say “what are WE?” so that’s when I put what I was feeling into music. The song has a good ending when they are together and all of the dreams I had finally came true after all those months we were "just more than friends". And sometimes you realize that great things happen to those who wait and I am the luckiest girl. There’s a hidden message in the lyrics, maybe you’ll figure it out :) [fourtwentyone]
“Time To Let Go” isn’t really just another break-up song. To me, it’s about long after a break-up where you still have feelings for that person and you can never seem to let them go no matter how long ago it happened. Every girl has gone through this and if not, you will. In this song, I wrote about how I would keep going back to that same person that hurt me so many times before. I felt attached and I couldn’t let go after all the times I was hurt, I just couldn’t seem to let go. I know it was time to move on when I wrote this song and it helped putting what I felt into words and music.
Everyone has a first crush and everyone remembers their first crush. For me, when I had my first crush I wrote a song about him. I guess instead of telling people, that’s how I let it out. The song I wrote was called “Sometimes”. It’s really just about admiring someone and never having the courage to tell them that you have liked them for so long. In the lyrics, I wrote “Sometimes when I see your face, it’s like I’m in another crowded place and I don’t know who to be around you” which was honestly true to what I was feeling at the time. This song really makes me think back to the time of innocent first crushes and all my friends love hearing it too!
The project was to write a background story of the three completed songs I have written, so here they are:
Chorus:
I feel like I’ve known you all my life,
but where’ve you been all this time?
So, tell me now in the pouring rain
even if it’s hard to explain,
you’re everything to me,
tell me.. what’s this gonna be?

Hey y'all, first of all I'd like to thank you for coming to my blog. This is my first time ever doing a blog so this should be fun. I first made this blog so that I could tell y'all all about everything I am doing and keep all of you up to date but we will see what else I come up with!
Right now, I am in songwriting classes with my wonderful voice coach in Atlanta, Tricia Grey. We are working on songs for my upcoming demo CD that I will be making after I complete all the songs. This is a long process, I wish it could be one of those things that happen overnight but unfortunately that's not the case.We have completed about three songs which I have been working on since May including "All My Life" and "Time To Let Go". It's all coming together and I am really excited! The hardest thing is pulling together a good theme for the CD, any ideas? So, I am working hard on that and will keep y'all updated!
Another thing that I am doing is acting, something else that is really close to my heart. Next weekend,(October 2nd) I will be meeting with the casting director of the Lifetime TV series "Army Wives". I am super excited about that and can't wait to tell you guys what happens with that. I have previously met this casting director in Orlando at my AMTC competition and can't wait to meet up with him again!
The Southeast Talent Search is a showcase that I have auditioned for that will be another chance to meet casting directors, music agents and modeling/print agents. It's a great opportunity to be seen and it is a lot like AMTC competition in Orlando, FL. I will be attending AMTC in January 2012 again and will be working hard there doing many showcases including singing, songwriting, acting, commercial runway and modeling. I want to thank all the people that wished me luck while I was there last time in July 2011. It was a great experience and I met lots of connections that I am currently working with now.
Thanks everyone for tuning into my blog!
Love, Caroline :)
